Additional information

The determination of the inhibitory effect of 4-nitrotoluene-2-sulphonic acid on Scenedesmus capricornutum was performed according to OECD guideline 201 by the Japanese National Institute of Technology and Evaluation. The results of this study showed an EC50 of 120 mg/L after 72 h exposure using the growth rate as relevant endpoint. Therefore, with high probability 4-nitrotoluene-2-sulphonic acid is not acute harmful to aquatic algae.
