Additional information

There are no investigations on the degradation in soils of the test substance. Nevertheless, based on results of a biodegradation study (OECD guideline 301C) 4-nitrotoluene-2-sulphonic acid was assessed to be poorly biodegradable (3 % after 28 days). Therefore, biotic degradation is not expected in any further soil simulations studies. Consequently, 4-nitrotoluene-2-sulphonic acid is assessed to be persistent in the environment.
