days for reaction with hydroxyl radicals in air have been calculated for
(3-chloropropyl)triethoxysilane and (3-chloropropyl)silanetriol,
46% biodegradation in 28 days was
attained in a reliable ready biodegradation study conducted according to
an appropriate test protocol, and in compliance with GLP. This
biodegradation is attributable to the biodegradation of the ethanol
hydrolysis product, which is readily biodegradable (OECD 2004). No
significant biodegradation is expected for the silanol hydrolysis
It is not necessary to obtain
further information on biodegradation via simulation tests in water,
sediment or soil.
