Description of key information

Dissociation constant (substance): not relevant
Dissociation constant (silanol hydrolysis product): ca. 10

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Testing is not considered scientifically necessary because there are no groups that can ionize in an environmentally relevant range in the molecule. In addition, the substance is hydrolytically unstable (half-life at pH 7 and 25°C 35 h) and forms 3 -chloropropylsilanetriol and ethanol. The silanol hydrolysis product is expected to have a first dissociation constant of ca. 10 based on read-across from the related substance phenylsilanetriol.
