EMBRYOTOXIC EFFECTS:- Test substance mainly caused early deaths and a dose-response was observed.Rate of early deaths = . 3 % of embryos at 1.0 µmol/egg, . 77 % at 4.0 µmol/egg,. 100 % at the highest doses (i.e. at 6.0 and 8.0 µmol/egg).- No embryo that died late was observed as malformed.- 3 to 7 % of survivors were malformed at the lowest doses (from 1.0 to 4.0 µmol/egg).- 2 to 7 % of the late dead were not malformed at the lowest doses (from 1.0 to 3.0 µmol/egg).CALCULATED PARAMETERS:. ED50 = 3.1 µmol/egg . LD 50 for total mortality = 3.3 µmol/egg. LD50 for dead not malformed = 3.3 µmol/egg. LD50 for early deaths = 3.4 µmol/eggMAIN INDUCED MALFORMATIONS:- small eye cup (17% of malformated survuivals)- lack of lids and cornea or parts of them (50% of malformated survivals)- open coelom (50% of malformated survivals)- defects of back and neck (33% of malformated survivals).
