PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The partition coefficient (log Kow) of 1,3 -diethyl-2 -thiourea was assessed according to a method similar to the shake-flask method. The value obtained (log Kow = 0.57) is < 4.5, which means that the substance should not be considered as bioaccumulable. It is thus not considered as a PBT or vPvB substance.

In addition, a screening PBT assessment was conducted with each of the degradation products, identified by the EAWAG tool, with the US EPA EPISUITE software. None of the identified degradation products are persistent nor bioaccumulable according to Biowin estimations.
