First-aid measures

Inhalation: Unlikely route of exposure; viscous liquid. If inhaled, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.
Skin contact: Wash off with soap and water. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice / attention.
Eye contact: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.
Ingestion: If ingestion of a large amount does occur, seek medical attention. Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting.
General advice: No hazards which require special first aid measures.

Fire-fighting measures

Unusual fire & explosion hazards: None known.
Specific hazards: Not a fire hazard. The product itself does not burn but may support combustion at very high temperatures.
Fire fighting equipment/instructions: As appropriate for surrounding fire. Substance is not classified as flammable. Avoid uncontrolled run off to waterways and sewers.

Accidental release measures

Containment procedures: Stop leak if safe to do so. Substance is viscous and will spread slowly. Contain or absorb liquids with granules or mats.
Methods for cleaning up: Shovel up used absorbent and transfer to a lidded container for disposal or recovery. Flush spill area with copious amounts of water.
Personal precautions: Keep unnecessary personnel away. Wear protective equipment to comply with good occupational hygiene practice.
Environmental precautions: Do not discharge undiluted into the sewer. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained.

Eye protection: Wear safety glasses with side shields.
Skin and body protection: Normal work clothing (long sleeved shirts and long pants) is recommended. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse. Normally no personal respiratory protection is necessary.
Hygiene measures: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
