The substance is highly volatile. Therefore tests should have been performed taking into account this volatility by using closed vessel for instance.

Only a study on Daphnids (de Nadai, 2009) is reliable and a GLP study on algae taxon was conducted for the current purpose. De Nadai (2009) study is fully documented utilizing closed vessels and showed a 48h-EC50 = 50.42 mg/L based on nominal concentrations. Toxicity of the substance to Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata has been tested in an algal growth inhibition test, following OECD guideline 201 under GLP conditions. It is fully documented, utilizing closed vessels, and clearly demonstrated a ErC50(72h) = 113.3 mg/L (extrapoled), a NOErC(72h) = 10 mg/L and a LOErC(72h) = 32 mg/L. It is important to note that due to the disappearance of the substance during the experiment, an analytical study has been conducted (Deierling 2010). This study demonstrated the necessity to refer to the nominal values.
