Additional information

The substance of reference is highly volatile. Thus any test design should have used closed or sealed vessels. Only ready biodegradation data are available, Berti (2001) and de Nadai (2009). Berti (2001) used a modified Sturm test which is not suitable for volatile substances and thus has been disregarded. De Nadai (2009) on the opposite used a closed test system and followed inorganic carbon. This last study is extensively detailed and show 83% of biodegradation of the substance after 28 days. All validity criteria were met for validation of the study and criteria of the 10-day window. Thus, according to de Nadai (2009), the substance is readily biodegradable meeting the 10-day window.
