Additional information

The test substance is highly volatile. Thus any test design should have used closed or sealed vessels. Two ready biodegradation studies are available: Berti (2001) and de Nadai (2009). Yet Berti (2001) used a modified Sturm test which is not suitable for volatile substances and thus has been disregarded. De Nadai (2009) on the opposite used a closed test system and followed inorganic carbon. This last study is extensively detailed and show 83% of biodegradation of the substance after 28 days. All validity criteria were met for validation of the study and criteria of the 10-day window. Thus, according to de Nadai (2009), the substance is readily biodegradable meeting the 10-day window and no further data are deem necessary.
