Simulation tests for biodegradation in water and sediment are waived.
Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Degradation testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. The chemical safety assessment conducted on this substance and attached to section 13 of the dossier indicates no concern at current and anticipated supply volumes. As such it is considered that there is no need to undertake simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water, as listed in section 188.8.131.52 of column 1 of REACH Annex IX.
Sediment simulation testing
In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex IX, sediment simulation testing, information requirement 184.108.40.206 does not need to be conducted as direct and indirect exposure to sediment is unlikely. The test substance entering the water is not likely to sorb onto suspended solids and sediment based upon the measured log Pow (CSR section 1.3 Physico-Chemical Properties), mitigating exposure to sediment.
