Executive summary:

The study was conducted to determine the toxicity of the test substance to adult earthworms for a 14-day period.

The tested nominal concentrations were 800, 1200, 1800, 2700 and 4050 mg/Kg. The vessels were firmly covered with black holey plastic films, to keep the substrate humid, and placed on a steel cabinet, that was also covered with black plastic film to reduce the luminosity. The vessels were observed in the 14th day after initiation of the test for evaluation of earthworm mortality.

The test substance exhibited a 14-day LC(I)50 greater than 4050 mg/kg, the highest dose tested, to the test organism Eisenia foetida. This value is equal to 2000 times the recommended label dose considering the area of 1 hectare, 1 cm depth, and soil density 1, therefore it was not necessary to test the doses higher than 4050 mg/kg.
