The vapor pressure of the test substance was determined to comply with U.S. EPA pesticide assessment guidelines, subdivision D, product chemistry, series 63-9. The Knudsen gas effusion method was used to determine the vapor pressure. This method is based upon loss of vapor through a small orifice in an isothermal vessel called a Knudsen cell into a vacuum. The weight loss in the cell was used to determine the vapor pressures at temperatures between 148.9 and 188.9°C. The vapor pressures of the test substance at these temperatures were calculated from the Knudsen vapor pressure equation. The calculated vapor pressure versus temperatures were combined and fit to the Clausius-Clapeyron equation. The vapor pressure at 25°C was estimated from the average ΔHvap and the constant K. The vapor pressure of the test substance at 25°C is 4 x 10e-12 Torr (5 x 10e-10 Pa). This low vapor pressure indicates that the test substance vaporization will not be a significant factor as a dissipation mechanism in the environment.
