Additional information

(Benzoato-O,O')hydroxy(octadecanoato-O,O')aluminium is considered to be readily biodegradable.

This substance consists of an inorganic aluminium cation and an organic fatty acid anion and benzoate anion. The substance meets the criteria for readily biodegradability though the biodegradation of the substance is relevant only to the organic components. The final breakdown products of the substances are carbon dioxide and water from the organic component and hydrated aluminium oxide species. According to column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the ready biodegradability study of the hydrated aluminium oxide species does not need to be conducted as the substance is inorganic.
