Conclusion on classification

N; R50-53 Dangerous for the environment; Very toxic to aquatic organisms, may cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment.

The EC50 to aquatic invertebrates, including D. magna is 1 mg/L.

Cr(VI) is not biodegradable. Transformation from Cr(VI) to Cr(III) may be rapid under acidic environmental conditions, but less so under neutral to basic conditions. Therefore, rapid dissipation or transformation may not always occur.
