Description of key information

Low potential for adsorption. 
For environmental exposure assessment, adsorption is predicted using the SimpleTreat model (implemented in EUSES 2.1.2 and TGD (Technical Guidance Document) non-hydrophobics log Kow prediction method (EC (2003) European Union Technical Guidance Document on Risk Assessment for New and Existing Substances, Part III, European Chemicals Bureau, 2003. Section 4.3 Soil and Sediment Sorption) and measured Log Pow data (log Pow of -0.0207 for the hydrolysis product). Log Koc = 1.00 (Koc of 10.2) for the silanol hydrolysis product.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The substance hydrolyses rapidly to substances which have low log Kowvalues (<3) and thus have low potential for adsorption. Therefore, in accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex VIII, the adsorption/desorption screening test does not need to be conducted, and also there is no need for further information on adsorption/desorption.
