Description of key information

An acute toxicity study was conducted with Daphnia magna. DMH was tested at nominal concentrations of 3000, 5000, 7000, 10000, 15000 mg/L. In the highest test concentrations of 15000 mg/L and 10000 mg/L, 100% mortality occurred within 12 and 48 hours respectively. There were partial kills of 55% in the 7000 mg/L and 35% in the 5000 mg/L concentrations within 24 hours. No deaths were recorded in the 3000 mg/L or control test chambers. The LC50 was estimated to be 6200 mg/L as determined by the Litchfield & Wilcoxon Method.
