A 72-hour EC50 value of >1170 mg/L and NOEC of 221 mg/L have been determined for the effects of the test substance on growth rate of Desmodesmus subspicatus (tested as Scenedesmus subspicatus). The result is expressed in terms of the estimated concentration of the parent substance based on measured DOC concentration of the stock solution. However it is likely that the test organisms were primarily exposed to the hydrolysis products of the substance.
The study is supported by QSAR predictions for the hydrolysis product 2-methylpropylsilanetriol is (ErC50 value of 410 mg/L).
