Description of key information

Flash Point (trimethoxy(2-methylpropyl)silane): 27°C (closed-cup)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
27 °C

Additional information

Three reliable flash point data are available for the substance. A measured flash point of 27°C was determined for the substance using a relevant closed-cup method. Although full details are not available, the result is considered to be reliable and selected as key study. In other available supporting studies, flash point values of 39°C and 41.1°C were determined for trimethoxy(2-methylpropyl)silane using relevant test methods. The key study was selected as the study with the lowest flash point value using a conservative approach.

A flash point of 27°C and a measured boiling point of 150°C, indicate that the substance should be classified as a flammable liquid according to the criteria of Regulation 1272/2008/EC.
