Description of key information

non flammable (DIN EN ISO 2719)
no pyrophoricity
no flammability on contact with water (EU A.12)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Based on flash point (182 °C at 1013 hPa; DIN EN ISO 2719) the substance is a non flammable liquid. The test substance does not ignite spontaneously with water and air and does not liberate gases in hazardous amounts (Ref.Keldenich, H.P, 2015, study no. 2014/00813).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification:

The test substance exhibits a flashpoint of 182 °C at 1013 hPa and does not ignite spontaneously with water and does not liberate gases in hazardous amounts. Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity is not expected.
