Description of key information

Surface tension (1 g/L in water) is 41 mN/m at 19.3°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A guideline and GLP test is available.

The value obtained for the surface tension of n-heptanol in ultra pure water at the concentration 1 g/L is 41mN/m. It can be concluded that the test item demonstrates a capability to decrease surface tension of water which is 73mN/m at the same temperature.

The results obtained show that n-heptanol has surface-active properties.
