Description of key information

The objective of this study was to determine the Adsorption Coefficient of the test item heptan-1-ol applying the procedure described in the OECD Guideline 121 Adsorption Coefficient on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
The 3 replicate determinations show that for the Adsorption Coefficient of heptan-1-ol, the log Koc mean value is 1.66.

A log Koc experimental value of 1.14 is also reported in Meylan and Howard, 1992* but without any details with regards to the experimental conditions. Anyway, this value comes to reinforce the fact that the substance is characterized by a low potential of adsorption.
