Description of key information

The terrestrial toxicity of zinc lactate can be understood in terms of the terrestrial toxicity of zinc(II) and lactic acid. Lactic acid is not relevant for hazard identification for soil organisms. For zinc, a lowest NOEC of 14.6 mg/kg is available, corresponding to 54.4 mg/kg zinc lactate.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
