Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
20 Dec 2009-01 Mar 2010
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: GLP-guideline study; pH of the solution and the exact temperature at which the water solubility has been determined have not been specified;
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 105 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EPA OPPTS 830.7840 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes
Type of method:
column elution method
Water solubility:
< 0 mg/L
Remarks on result:
other: water solubility at ambient temperature
Details on results:
Prior to the run of the samples a calibration curve for [trade name] was determined over a concentration range of 1 mg/L to 10 mg/L. Five standard solutions were prepared from two standard stock solutions. A calibration curve was generated and linear regression analysis was performed for the data.

Preliminary Test:

From earlier information, it is known that the solubility of the test substance is less than 10 mg/L, and therefore a preliminary test was not required.

Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): insoluble (< 0.1 mg/L)

Description of key information

The substance Reaction mass of 1,1'-(isopropylidene)bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)benzene] and 1,3-dibromo-2-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)-5-{2-[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3,3-tribromo-2-methylpropoxy)phenyl]propan-2-yl}benzene has a water solubility lower than 0.00042 mg/L, at ambient temperature (OECD 105, OPPTS 830.7840; column elution method).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
0 mg/L

Additional information

Water solubility has been determined at ambient temperature.
