Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Reaction mass of 1,1'-(isopropylidene)bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)benzene] and 1,3-dibromo-2-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)-5-{2-[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3,3-tribromo-2-methylpropoxy)phenyl]propan-2-yl}benzene has a water solubility lower than 0.00042 mg/L (at ambient temperature, OECD 105), a log Koc of 8.1 (OECD 121) and a vapour pressure of 3.31 x 10^-11 Pa (MPBPWIN v1.43). Therefore, the substance will target sediment and soil. The substance is neither readily nor inherently biodegradable and is therefore expected to be persistent in the environment. The substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation. This is based on a fish bioconcentration study (OECD 305) in which BCFs of <9 to 94 were identified. QSAR calculations confirm this result with a BC factor of 60.74. Furthermore, the physicochemical properties of the substance (high molecular weight of 971.68 g/mol and high log Kow of > 10) and the toxicokinetic assessment indicate a low bioavailability. Hence, bioaccumulation potential in biota is unlikely.
