101.8 mg of the test substance was dissolved in 1 L test water and stirred (via magnetic stirrer) in the dark for 72 h at 500 rpm. Later the solution was filtrated using a 0.45 μm nitrocellulose membrane to make a saturated solution of the test substance in the test water as the stock solution. One study is available testing the short term toxicity of Reaction mass of 1,1'-(isopropylidene)bis[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)benzene] and 1,3-dibromo-2-(2,3-dibromo-2-methylpropoxy)-5-{2-[3,5-dibromo-4-(2,3,3-tribromo-2-methylpropoxy)phenyl]propan-2-yl}benzene to aquatic invertebrates, including analytical results. The test was conducted in a static freshwater system according to OECD guideline 202 and GLP (Jing, 2014). The test organism Daphnia magna was exposed to a single concentration of 100 mg test item/L for 48 h. The test item was found to be poorly soluble in water and therefore the test item solution was stirred and filtrated prior to test initiation, in order to prepare a saturated solution. The concentrations of the test substance during the test were analyzed using UPLC method. The measured concentrations of the test substance were all below the limit of detection (89.6 ng/mL). No effect was observed up to the tested concentration of 100 mg/L resulting in an EC50 (48 h) >100 mg/L (nominal) based on the mobility of the organisms.
