The substance forms a high viscose solution at a concentration of 250 g/l. Therefore it is not possible to use a five fold saturation concentration for the determination of the solubility, as required by the EEC method. Consequently the solubility can be higher than this mean value.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of FAT 20004/H is greater than 100 g/l at 20 °C. The test item is considered to be very soluble (>10000 mg/L).
Executive summary:

The water solubility of FAT 20004/H was determined according to flask method. This study was conducted in accordance with OECD test guideline 105 and EU method A.6. Based on the findings of this study, the water solubility was determined to be greater than 100 g/l at 20 °C.

Description of key information

A study was performed to determine the water solubility cs of the test item FAT 20004 according to the European Commission Regulation (EC) No.440/2008 Part A: methods of determination of physico – chemical properties.A6. Water solubility, flask – method and OECD test guidelines OECD 105 water solubility. The water solubility cs of the test item at a temperature of 20 °C was determined to (without correction for the purity): cs = 65.5 g/l. In another supporting study, the water solubility was determined to be greater than 100 g/l.
