Executive summary:

The particle size distribution of FAT 40075/D was determined according to CIPAC MT 187. The optical observation of the test item is shown in the following table. Determined particle size range:

L10D (v, 0.1): 1.90 µm

L50D (v, 0.5): 5.77 µm

L90D (v, 0.9): 12.0 µm

Description of key information

A study was performed to evaluate the particle size distribution for the test substance FAT 20004, according to the following guidelines

CIPAC MT 187: Particle Size Analysis by Laser Diffraction

ISO 13320-1: Particle Size Analysis – Laser Diffraction Methods

The Median particle size (L50) of FAT 20004 is found to be 5.77 μm. This value is also taken forward as the Mass Median Aerodynamic Diameter (MMAD).
