Conclusions:
An auto-ignition temperature value of 331°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the substance in a reliable study conducted according to ASTM E659-78. It was not conducted according to GLP.

Description of key information

Auto-ignition temperature: 331°C at 1013 hPa (ASTM E659-78)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
331 °C

Additional information

Several reliable auto-ignition temperature studies are available for the submission substance. A measured auto-ignition temperature value of 331°C at 1013 hPa was obtained using a relevant test method according to ASTM E659-78 but not in compliance with GLP. The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

The key study is supported by auto-ignition temperature values of 325°C and 349°C at 1013 hPa using DIN 51794 and ASTM E659 Test Methods respectively. In a handbook or collection of reliable data, auto-ignition temperature value of 380°C at 1013 hPa was reported for the substance.

In available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, auto-ignition temperature values of 325°C at 1013 hPa and 380°C were reported for the substance.
