There are several reliable measured flash point studies that are available for the submission substance. A measured flash point of 11.4°C at 1013 hPa was determined for the submission substance using a rapid equilibrium closed-cup method in accordance with ASTM D3828-87 but not in compliance with GLP (Dow Corning Corporation 1998). The result is considered to be reliable and is selected as key study.

In Southwest Research Institute 2000, flash point values of 10°C at 1013 hPa and <79°C at 1013 hPa using closed cup and open cup methods respectively were determined for the submission substance. Similarly, in Haas 1995, flash point values of 11°C at 1013 hPa, 12°C at 1013 hPa and 16°C hPa were determined for the substance using closed cup method in accordance with DIN 51755. In a handbook or collection of reliable data (O'Neil 2006), a flash point value of 27°C was reported for the substance.

In available secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, flash point values of 8.9 - 15°C were reported for the substance.

A measured flash point of 11.4°C at 1013 hPa and a measured boiling point of 125°C at 1013 hPa indicate that the substance should be classified for flammability in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
