A study was conducted following the OECD 121 guideline: the adsorption coefficient of ethyl methyl carbonate was determined to be 1.58 (Log Koc = 0.199). Taken with its high water solubility, this value is sufficiently low to suggest that ethyl methyl carbonate will show limited adsorption to soil or sediment particulates, and will partition mainly to water (in the surface or ground water compartments).
