In a GLP-study which followed a method very similar to OECD guideline 301C and using non-adapted sludge, 98% biodegradation was achieved after 28 days (passing 60% within 10 days after reaching 10%); ethyl methyl carbonate can therefore be considered as readily biodegradable.
