The atmospheric oxidation half life of α,α-bis[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-4-(phenylamino)naphthalene-1-methanol (Solvent Blue 4) containing less than 0.1% Michler’s Ketone was estimated using level III multimedia model it indicates that α,α-bis[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-4-(phenylamino)naphthalene-1-methanol is not persistent in air medium as the half life period of α,α-bis[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-4-(phenylamino)naphthalene-1-methanol in air is only 0.04 days. From this it is concluded that α,α-bis[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-4-(phenylamino)naphthalene-1-methanol is rapidly phototransformed in air.

Based on level III fugacity model the half life period of α,α-bis[4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]-4-(phenylamino)naphthalene-1-methanol (Solvent Blue 4) containing less than 0.1% Michler’s Ketone was estimated.
