Description of key information
Water solubility of MV 31 is determined to be 145 ug/L at 23 °C.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
Additional information
The water solubility of MV 31 was measured in 2013 according to US EPA OPPTS 830.7840 (Water Solubility) test guideline and was conducted under GLP. Triplicate samples were incubated for 4, 5, and 6 days at approximately 30 °C. Samples were equilibrated at room temperature ( ~ 23 °C) for at least 24 hours prior to analysis. MV 31 has a measured water solubility of 145 ug/L at approximately 23˚C, as an average of day 4, 5, and 6 measurements. The overall %RSD was 9.5%. This is a guideline study conducted under GLP compliance with no deviation. Therefore, it is considered reliable without restrictions and a key study.
A previous study conducted in 2002 following EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility) flask method and conducted under GLP compliance resulted in the water solubility of MV 31 ≤ 20 mg/L at 20 °C. Although the measured value was lower than the detection limit and test system had poor recoveries for calibration standard recheck and matrix spikes, it is in agreement with the conclusion that MV 31 is slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L) in water. Therefore, it is considered as a supporting study.
