Description of key information

The water solubility of 5-Amino-o-cresol was 4.11 g/L at 20±0.5°C and a pH value of 7.30, measured by flask method (OECD 105). It is considered as soluble (1000-10000 mg/L).

The water solubility of 5-Amino-o-cresol was determined by following the OECD guideline 105 (flask method) and the GLP.

The test material was added to double distilled water (1.5 g/30 mL). The test solutions were preincubated at 30±0.5 °C with constant stirring at 300 rpm.After 24, 48 and 72 h, flasks were reduced to test temperature (20±0.5°C) with stirring at 100 rpm. Samples were taken 24 h after transfer to the test temperature and analyzed byHPLC on a reversed-phase column with UV-detection.
