Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

No self-ignition temperature was observed for 5-amino-o-cresol until the maximum temperature of 403°C (EU Method A.16)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Self-ignition temperature of 5-Amino-o-cresol was determined following the EU Method A.16 (Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids) and the GLP.

8 cm3(5.5 g) of the test substance were placed in an oven at 17°C; the temperature/time curve relating to conditions in the centre of the sample was recorded while the temperature of the oven was increased to 403°C at a rate of 0.5°C/min.

No self-ignition temperature was observed in the temperature range of 17 - 403°C. An endothermic effect of the test material at 160°C was observed.
