The key value for aquatic bioaccumulation was derived from a study exposing carp (Cyprinus carpio) to 2 mg/l of test substance over a period of 8 weeks under GLP conditions and following a guideline similar to OECD 305 C.
One study reporting on the BCF of the test substance was available. In
this study from Kurume Research Laboratories (Yakata, 1993), carp
(Cyprinus carpio) were exposed to 0.2 and 2 mg/l (nominal concentration;
actual concentrations were in agreement) of the test substance in a
flow-through system over a period of 8 weeks. Steady-state was reached
after 4 weeks, so BCF values are reported for this uptake duration. BCF
values for the 0.2 mg/l treatment were reported to be <= 4.9 L/kg
because no measurable test substance was present in the exposed fish.
The plateau of the uptake phase seems to be reached after ca. 4 weeks
resulting in BCF values of 2.9 -3.1 L/kg ww (results for the 2 mg/L
treatment). Overall, the BCF values varied between 1.9 and 3.1 L/kg ww.
