Description of key information

MV 31 is considered highly flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The flammability of MV 31 has been evaluated under different conditions in two flammability studies and MV 31 was determined not to emit flammable gases upon contact with water based on the chemical structure. In the first study, MV 31 was found not to be flammable on contact with air. The test was conducted according to EU Method A.13, and is considered as reliable without restrictions. A second study of flammability limits in air was conducted of the vapor at elevated temperature and is not considered further due to unsuitability of the test system. Based on the flash point and boiling point values, MV 31 is classified as highly flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on the flash point and boiling point values, MV 31 is classified as highly flammable.
