Additional information
The solubility of the submission substance was determined in various matrices (distilled water, well-water, algal assay medium and seawater) using GC-MS. The solubility was determined by gently placing an excess amount of the substance on the surface of each matrix and a slow-stirring was applied until saturation was attained. The resulting dissolved concentration was measured using GC-MS. In distilled water, solubility value of 7.3-8.8 ppb (0.0073-0.0088 mg/l) at 23°C was obtained for the submission substance. In well-water and seawater, solubility values of 7.6 -7.9 ppb at 23°C and 9.2 -12.6 ppb at 23°C respectively were obtained. The result is considered to be reliable.
2,4,6,8,10 -Pentamethyl-2,4,6,8,10-pentavinylcyclopentasiloxane Vi5-D5 (CAS No: 17704-22-2; impurity 1) and 2,4,6-trimethyl-2,4,6-trivinylcyclotrisiloxane Vi3-D3 (CAS No: 3901-77-7; impurity 2) may be present as impurities. Predicted water solubility values of 9.1E-06 and 1.3E-01 mg/l at 20°C were determined for Vi5 -D5 and Vi3 -D3, respectively, using a validated QSAR estimation method.
