Additional information

One reliable key study is available for this endpoint. In this study (Aminabhavi T.M. and Phayde H.T.S., 1996), results of sorption and diffusion at 298.15 °K of eight liquids comprising Methyl salicylate (supplied by the Oversea Chinese Chemicals Factory, Shanghai, China) and seven binary mixtures are provided. These results are discussed in terms of the thermodynamic interactions between solvent mixtures and the individual components with the polymer chain segments. The purity of Methyl salicylate was ascertained by comparing its density with the published results. Density of Methyl salicylate was measured with a pycnometer in the same manner as the testing guideline. An average of triplicate measurements was taken into account, and these triplicates were reproducible within ± 0002 g.cm-3.The relative density value was determined to be 1.1782 at 298.15 K (corresponding to 25°C).

Two other reliable studies (Glowaski R.C. and Lynch C.C., 1933 and Sidgwick N.V. and Bayliss N.S., 1930) were selected as supporting studies as they reported the similar relative density values of 1.1798 at 25°C and 1.1782 at 25°C respectively.
