Description of key information

As the substance to be registered, PMDA, is unstable in water, the corresponding hydrolysis product Pyromellitic acid (PMA) was tested. The study was conducted according to EC method A.6, using the shake-flask method. In conclusion, the water solubility of PMA was determined to be 8.56 g/L at 20°C. The pH value was found to be 8.56. In addition, the estimated water solubility of PMDA is reported in literature to be approx. 130 mg/l at 25°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
