Description of key information

Methacrylamide is readily biodegradable in an OECD 301 E screening test within 28 days, fulfilling 10 day window. Therefore methacrylamide is regarded as readily biodegradable.

Additional information

Methacrylamide was tested in a 28 day OECD 301E screening test for readily biodegradation. 97 % biodegradation was achieved after 28 days, fulfilling 10 day-window.

Therefore methacrylamide is regarded as readily biodegradable based on OECD 301E study.

Additionally two tests of inherently biodegradation are available. One test acc. ISO 9888 (Röhm 2003) at concentration corresponding to 400 mg/l DOC was tested. 100 % DOC was eliminated after 6

days. In a second test acc. OECD 302 C (modified MITI test II) methacrylamide was also inherently biodegradable as the test reached 95 % biodegradation within 28 days (TOC-removal)
