Description of key information

The water solubility of Allantoin is 4.9 g/L at 20 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
4.9 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The water solubility of Allantoin was determined in an experimental study in 2011 according to OECD guideline 105.

After a preliminary range-finding test, the water solubility was assessed in a flask test. For this purpose, the test substance was dissolved in water at a temperature somewhat above the test temperature and subsequently cooled down and kept at the test temperature (20°C) after saturation. The mass concentration of the test substance in the aqueous solution was finally determined to be 4.9 mg/L.
