Description of key information

The 48h EC50 for Daphnia magna was determined to be > 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Acute toxicity of Allantoin to aquatic invertebrates was tested in an experimental GLP-compliant study that was conducted according to OECD guideline 202. Daphnia magna were exposed to Allantoin in a 48h static freshwater test at a nominal Allantoin concentration of c = 100 mg/L. After 24h and 48h no effects on mobilization were observed in any of the test organisms. Therefore it can be concluded that the EC50 of Allantoin to Daphnia magna is >100 mg/L.
