Description of key information

No exothermic effects were observed at a maximum temperature of 420°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The auto flammability of Allantoin was tested in an experimental study in 2002, according to the Grewer method (VDI 2263 / Part 1, 1.4.1,May 1990).

No exothermic effects were observed at a maximum temperature of 420°C. As the substance melts at ~ 230°C, it is concluded that there is no threat of auto-flammability of Allantoin.
