Conclusion on classification

For the Environmental classification of allantoin the following data have to be considered:

1. Acute ecotoxicity: Limit tests were performed for algae and daphnia. No toxic effects were observed at the test concentration (100 mg/L). A limit test was also performed for the short-term fish study. No toxic effects were observed at the test concentration (5000 mg/L).

2. Chronic ecotoxicity: no chronic data available

3. Ready biodegradability

4. Log Kow = -2.26 (not bioaccumulative)
