Additional information

No exposure to the terrestrial compartment, including soil, is intended during the life cycle of the test substance. Even if an unintended exposure would occur (e.g. via an accident), the substance was found to be readily biodegradable under the stringent conditions of OECD 301D (Drake, 2011) and is therefore not persistent in the environment. Furthermore, the substance possesses a low absorption (Koc: 7.887, predicted by MCI Method, KOCWIN v2.00, Chemservice S.A., 2017) as well as a low bioaccumulation (BCF: 3.16 L/kg w.w., predicted by the traditional method of BCFBAF v3.00, Chemservice S.A., 2017) potential. The experimentally determined logPow of 0.64 (OECD 107, BASF AG, 1993) indicates already that the substance will not accumulate in organisms. Hence, a relevant distribution into soil and a considerable exposure of the biota is not expected, concluding that no experimental results on any soil organism have to be provided. This procedure is in accordance to REACH, Annex IX, Section 9.4, column 2. The Predicted No Effect Concentration (PNEC) for soil was derived from the PNEC for freshwater using the equilibrium partitioning method (EPM).
