Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2010
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: internal certified procedure N° STR 071ed. 1
Version / remarks:
internal certified procedure N° STR 071ed. 1
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
About 10g of sample were sieved with 500um pore sieve. The lower fraction was weighted to assess its percentage on the whole, and the lower fraction was analysed by laser method for particle size distribution.
Particle size was assessed by laser diffraction technique using an instrument Malvern Mastersizer 2000 dispersing the sample in silicon oil Tegiloxan
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
Laser scattering/diffraction
Type of distribution:
volumetric distribution

The average particle size is.

D10 ≤ 26.229 µm

D50 80.945 µm

D90 149.66 µm

Conclusions:
Particle size distribution is:
Fraction 0.2: 26.3um
Fraction 0.5: 80.9um
Fraction 0.9: 149.7um
Executive summary:

Particle size distribution was assesed by laser diffraction technique.

Particle size distribution is:

Fraction 0.2: 26.3um

Fraction 0.5: 80.9um

Fraction 0.9: 149.7um
