Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Classification justification according to CLP

According to the data listed above Bromoxynil heptanoate is not rapidly biodegradable and has a low potential to bioaccumulate (BCF:≤500). The most sensitive acute effect was obtained for fish with an EC50(48 h) of 0.029 mg/L. The most sensitive chronic effect was the reported NOEC (21 d) of 0.0036 mg/L in a chronic toxicity study on Daphnia magna. Based on the available data substance is need to be classified and labelled as environmentally hazardous category Acute 1 and Chronic 1. This in line with harmonised classification of Bromoxynil heptanoate on Annex VI to CLP. The harmonised classification and labelling is Aquatic Acute 1 and Aquatic Chronic 1 according to Annex VI to CLP.

M-factor for acute: 10

M-factor for chronic toxicity: 10
