Description of key information

Flammability: Non-flammable (read-across within the category of metal-citrate salts)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

Citric acid and its monosodium, tripotassium and tricalcium salts have been found to be non-flammable (burning index = 2/3) in screening tests conducted according to appropriate national standard methods. On the basis of read-across within the category, trizinc dicitrate is also considered to be non-flammable.

On the basis of experience in handling and use, the substance is not flammable in contact with air or water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There is no evidence to suggest that the substance should be classified for this endpoint.
